Sunrise at Hidden Beach

I haven’t drawn in awhile, I’ve been busy with other stuff, but this morning I felt inspired to draw. I sat down at my desk and my mind went to my happy place, the beach. I love watching the sunrise. Here is the process video of what I’m calling ‘Sunrise at Hidden Beach’.

Sunrise Hidden Beach is available in my shop, click to see the products available. Here are just a few of my favorites.

Thanks for looking 👀 Until next time✌🏼

Review of “My Handcrafted Home” Order

My niece makes her own scented candles and wax melts, cutting boards, home decor and lots more handcrafted items. I ordered a few wax melts and the Boho car diffuser. I got my order today and couldn’t wait to open it. She sent me a couple of samples of her new wax melt fragrances along with my order. I gave each package of wax melts the sniff test and I love them all. Here is my order, fresh out of the carefully wrapped package.

I have the Coconut Hibiscus in my burner right now. It smells amazing! The car charm is hanging on my rear view mirror and it’s Coconut Hibiscus as well. My car is smelling awesome.

The link to her website is “My Handcrafted Home”. She’s very talented and has lots of great handmade items. Check it out!

Until next time!

New project in the works

I picked up some gorgeous yarn the other day and started an afghan with it. Here’s what the yarn looks like.

It’s ‘I Love This Yarn’ in Peacock and Kaleidoscope. I feel in love with the colors. The yarn is soft and easy to work with and makes a squishy afghan.

Here’s a few photos of what it looks like so far. It’s wider than the length of my queen sized mattress so it’s hard to get it all in one photo. I’m making it so that I have over a foot overhang on the width of the bed. I’ll be putting a border on it of course.

That’s the pattern I’m using, alternating the two yarns.

I kind of like the dropped single crochet rows (overlapping V stitches shown on right in above photo). I think it gives it more texture, don’t you???

Well, back to my crocheting. I’ve got a long way to go to finish this afghan. Until next time✌🏼

Monsterra Leaf Update

The newest leaf has fully opened. Here’s a close-up of it.

So far there is no sign of a new developing leaf. Perhaps it’s taking a break.

Here is a photo of the plant.

It sure has grown alot since I bought it, as you can see in this post.

A Bowl of Mater’s

I was going to title this post “A Bowl of Mater’s ‘Maters” but I thought it’d be a bit much. Anyway, as hot as it’s been lately here in Virginia, Mater has been producing around 4 to 6 red almost ripe tomatoes a day for the past couple days. I’ve been picking them before they’re completely ripe as I don’t want the birds getting them.

Here’s a few photos of the little but delicious, so I’m told, maters.

There’s at least 6 more that’ll be ready to pick tomorrow.

Guess I’ll eat me a salad soon. 🍅🍅🍅

Update on Newest Monsterra Leaf

I had written about the newest Monsterra leaf in a previous post, and it is now fully open. Here is a close-up photo of the newest leaf.

The two behind it are the previous new leaves. Here’s a couple photos of the plant.

I moved everything around in the room so that the plant could get more light. It’s growing nicely and hopefully will grow some more leaves soon.

If you’d like to read all about my Monsterra you can catch up on all the posts about it HERE.

Monsterra Leaf Update

The newest leaf, which I wrote about in this post, has started to uncurl. The previous leaf is standing tall above the newest one in these photos.

So far there doesn’t seem to be any more developing leaves. I’m anxious to see how big this thing is gonna get.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Until next time ✌🏼

Wow What a Moth!

I was walking the dogs and coming up our stairs this morning, sliding my hand up the wooden banister in case my knee gave away like it does sometimes, and my hand bumped into something soft. It was a moth unlike any I’ve ever seen.

Here’s a few more photos.

I have no clue what kind of moth it is. I reckon I’ll have to do some research on it…..

It seems that it is a Giant Leopard Moth.

Thanks for stopping by! Until next time!✌🏼

Mater and a Storm’s Brewing

Summertime is pop-up storm season here in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. I went out onto our little deck/balcony to check on Mater the tomato plant and saw that a storm was brewing. I caught a bit of it in the background of this photo of Mater. (If you want to find out more about Mater you can check out this previous post. You can also check the tag: tomato plant to see all of the parts about Mater.)

Tomatoes are ripening.

The tomato plant is loaded with tomatoes. We’ve already picked 3 ripe ones. They are rather small though and I’m slightly disappointed at that fact. I’ll never grow that variety again. Here’s another photo that’s a close-up of a couple that are going to get picked.

The tomatoes are smaller than a tennis ball but bigger than a golf ball, sort of in between the two. I reckon they’ll make good salad tomatoes.

Here’s a few pictures of the storm clouds that I snapped while I was outside.
